CURZON WHARF

Curzon Wharf has approval to become the world’s first net zero carbon mixed-use development.

Outline consent has been granted (Q2 2023), and a S106 legal agreement rubberstamped In January 2024 for a three-phase development comprising four new builds:

  • C. 130K SF of Life Science floorspace over nine floors;
  • C. 732 PBSA within Watt Tower (41 storeys);
  • C. 122 homes within Galton Skytree (14 storeys);
  • C. 498 BTR homes within Boulton Tower (53 storeys, 172m, 564ft);
  • and 3K SF of retail & over 15K SF of vibrant leisure opportunities across the site.

Full planning was also granted for the partial removal of a listed canal-side wall to facilitate a new £2.49M public realm, offering improved walking and cycling routes around the site - the latter has been secured via the S106.

With a three-phase strategy in place and a strict design code, all builds are to be energy efficient and powered by renewable energy sources.

Luxury and leading student and Build to Rent (BTR) operators for these buildings have already been secured, according to Woodbourne.
