Plans for the second and final phase of Equipoint, which saw the landmark first phase transformed into apartments, has been approved.

Following on from the successful £40m extension and conversion of the Equipoint building into 250 apartments, Urban Village Group has today received approval to deliver a further 105 apartments, commercial spaces and amenities.

The development relates to land on an existing car park to the rear of the site.

Featuring two ‘lozenge’ shaped new builds of 3-7 & 9 storeys, the builds have been designed to remain subservient to the original building, but still maintain its own style and identity.

A total of 52 one and 53 two-bed apartments in 1–3-person accommodation, would be delivered alongside 10% affordability, with sizes ranging from 47-66sqm.

To supplement the apartments, a 229 sqm ground floor commercial unit would be provided adjacent Tesco, along with spacious green garden terraces for residents.

Vehicular spaces is to be allocated for circa. 236, with disabled bays and an area of covered cycle storage.
