EDGBASTON STREET GARDENS (Hammerson, Howells, Layer Studio, Avison Young, etc.)

Outline plans to transform Edgbaston Street Car Park and Bullring Indoor Market have been lodged.

The site will eventually be demolished, traders seamlessly relocated to new buildings at Smithfield, and new buildings constructed on-site, creating a crucial new link with the Bullring and to the Smithfield masterplan.

The project could provide a maximum of 745 homes or a maximum of 1,544 student bedrooms, with communal and Class E-commercial space.

The project would serve essential retail/commercial at street level, complemented by new pedestrian links and green, landscaped public realms (2,315 sqm).
