A second round of consultation on a huge mixed-use scheme in Birmingham has launched.
Vita seeks to create a new landmark destination for Westside and Ladywood - a dynamic hub for people to live, stay, and socialise.
While the plans will continue to evolve ahead of a third consultation later in the year, Vita plans to construct five new blocks, creating a residential-led, mixed use development.
This could see two builds of 44 & 49-storeys, containing circa 1,000 homes (likely for rent) facing onto Suffolk Street Queensway.
On Holliday Street, Vita’s House of Social brand is aiming for around a 29-storey containing 750 PBSA, complemented by a multi-level foodhall, restaurant, and retail.
A 200-300-room CitySuites aparthotel of 19 storeys would also be built next door (1-3 beds).
At the rear corner of the site would be a 13-storey residential new build, providing around 200 apartments in a mix of social and affordable housing.
All of these will be set around an extensive new public realm and urban garden, further boosted by biodiverse wildlife & public spaces.
