This Galliard Homes and Apsley House Capital joint venture – their fifth major Birmingham development – would deliver a high-quality new urban environment with the delivery of 438 homes & a new green linear park.

Should the distinctive new plans receive the nod next week (October 14), the major scheme would see 14 residential blocks containing a mixture of 112 townhouses and 62 adjoining apartments.

Two apartment buildings, comprising 264 one & two-bedroom units, would also give rise to 4-7 and 4-12 storeys at strategic positions overlooking Belgrave Middleway and Haden Circus.

In total, the development proposes 219 one & 107 two-bed apartments along with 38 two, 62 three, and 12 four-bedroom houses – with 44 (10%) affordable units.

Crucially, the outward-looking development, designed by Chetwoods Architects, would feature attractive private and shared courtyards, as well as a new public green linear park to complement the mixture of low-rise townhouses and apartment blocks.

With two new access points created via Haden Way and Sherbourne Road, parking for 263 cars is to be provided alongside 17 motorcycle spaces and spaces for 670 cycles.

GALLIARD APSLEY PARTNERSHIP

The Galliard and Apsley partnership is firmly established in Birmingham.

Having already completed B1 Birmingham for DWP, residential schemes at Soho Wharf – the largest Birmingham development today, and The Timber Yard in the Gay Village, are all advanced in their respective construction stage, with St. Paul’s Quarter, in the Jewellery Quarter, just around the corner.
