HOTEL & STUDENT ACCOMMODATION
12 Calthorpe Road is being repositioned to create two independent buildings comprising both student accommodation and a hotel.
Joined by a vertical link, which will be removed, both buildings will see new upward extensions, allowing them to flourish separately.
The 11-storey (1962-designed) building will be repurposed into 266 student beds – 170 studios & 96 en-suites – with a two-storey upward extension.
Facilities will include a sky lounge, a multimedia lounge, a virtual training room, a gym, laundry, a parcel store, study spaces, and games and cinema rooms.
The smaller block is to become a hotel with an extension and a 120-cover restaurant pavilion on Calthorpe Road.
